AICRA ties up with Institute for Industrial Development (IID) for Entrepreneurship Development Program

Over 90 per cent of India's enterprises are MSMEs. The nation's 63 million MSME enterprises contribute approximately 28 per cent to the GDP, 45 per cent to manufacturing output, and 40 per cent to exports. The sector engages over 111 million people which makes it the second biggest employer after agriculture. MSMEs are the backbone to large Industries & economy, it contributes enormously to the socio-economic development of the country. Looking at the critical needs of MSMEs in India, the All India Council for Robotics and Automation (AICRA) has signed a Memorandum of Undertaking (MoU) with the Institute for Industrial Development (IID) for the ‘Entrepreneurship Development Program’.The MoU was initiated and signed by Mr. Rajkumar Sharma, President- AICRA along with Mr. Kamal Bhola, Director of IID. “We, at AICRA, plan to make a far-reaching impact through our engagements, and with the Entrepreneurship Development Program, we aim to help the MSMEs and start-ups to integrate their businesses with future technologies. These future technologies will help the start-ups to leverage their businesses and increase their overall productivity,”, said Mr. Rajkumar Sharma. He further added that this program will also benefit students and technology enthusiasts who want to learn how to operate future technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Robot Process Operations, etc.

This collaboration intends to help theMSME sector to upgrade themselves with the latest technologies which can expand their business globally. Companies and businesses - especially MSMEs - need to learn how to innovate and become agile, create a strong digital ecosystem. Not only does it help create a positive brand recall but also helps generate business through channels. While most SME's and MSME's look at this as an 'out of league’ investment, IID- AICRA partnership will offer support and handholding to all enterprises who require it. Be it automation, CRM, ERP, IoT, or ML, a well-planned strategy to scale to a technology-enabled, highly productive, next-generation business will be worked out under this partnership. This program will focus on enabling small enterprises to make use of technologies and focus on creating more job opportunities and facilitating the small players in the market. To build a stronger ecosystem for businesses to work and for students to improve their skills, both the organizations have agreed upon the following set of engagements for one year: - Training programs for students and corporates:They will jointly offer training programs and workshops for skilling engineering students and corporates on various technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Robot Process Operation and Robot Operating System, etc. - Setting up Centres of Excellence (COEs):They will jointly set-up Centre of Excellence (COE) to help Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) for consultation, support, and services to integrate new technologies for production and efficiency improvement at low cost. - Events for tech start-ups and MSMEs:AICRA and IID will jointly organize events that will majorly focus on Tech Start-ups and MSMEs to create awareness about various government schemes, Intellectual Property Right, Start-Up India program, and other benefits for MSMEs by the government. AICRA will help IID to set up Centres of Excellence in its various state chapters and other partner organizations, as and when would be required. The Council will also design the educational program and content for training and learning modules. It would further arrange the trainers and experts for MSMEs to help them understand how to integrate a particular technology in their respective industries. Not just this, AICRA will also facilitate the trainers for skilling the youth and corporates who would enroll themselves in the entrepreneurship development programs. Both AICRA and IID would organize tech events, where they will invite speakers and tech experts to help MSMEs to have a better understanding of future technologies. There will be dedicated managers who will look after the associations between the trainers and the MSMEs. Both parties have agreed to work in collaboration for various communication messages such as channels, portals, social media, etc.With the Entrepreneurship Development Program, both the organizations are moving in a direction of building a stronger ecosystem for the MSMEs to flourish and for future technologies to help them manage their industries better.
